Christmas Thoughts
Christmas celebrates God’s “good will to men,” but I also wish for it to be a time of man’s “good will to men.” Take a moment to ask Me what I would like you to do for someone else, and remember My Father’s good will by sharing some of your own.—Jesus
Make this Christmas count in the hearts and lives of others—it’s not just a special time, but a special opportunity!
The greatest gift for Christmas is the gift of your love for someone else
If you don’t know what to give “the person who has everything” at Christmas, then give them Me. Give them a Bible, or a verse, or forgiveness, or mercy. Anything that will remind them of God’s love.—Jesus
Christmas provides a part for everyone to play: You can be Mary: Be willing to be whatever God wants you to be You can be Joseph: Take God at His word, even if you do not understand, and give His plan your best shot. You can be a shepherd: Get exited about the Good News and tell as many people as you can. You can be a wise man: Worship Jesus and give Him your most precious gift, the gift of yourself and your love for others. You can be a star: Reflect God`s light and point the way to Jesus. You can be an angel: Loudly proclaim the good tidings.
The Faith Value of The US Dollar
Unfettered greed, plain usury, outsourcing and endless wars have hollowed out from the inside the American Economy. And the black horse of the Apocalypse is running free collecting his dues.
1. THERE IS HARDLY ANYTHING THAT CAN BE ENJOYED IN A HURRY!--a glass of wine, a walk, a talk, a ride, a view, a meal, or an embrace! God is hardly ever in a hurry! It takes Him time to make a baby, a flower, a tree, a sunset--or even a blade of grass. He is hardly ever in a hurry --unless He is angry! He hardly ever does anything suddenly--but Judgment!
In 1984, Skynet, the supercomputer that rules a future Earth, sent a cyborg assassin, a "terminator," back to our time. His job was to liquidate the woman who would give birth to John Connor, the leader of the underground human resistance of Skynet's time. That, of course, was the plot of the first Terminator movie, and for the millions who saw it, the images of future machine war—of hunter-killer drones flying above a wasted landscape—are unforgettable.
What and where is the Promised Land? Where is the Promised Land? Who was it promised too? To whom should the land belong? Is the Promised Land a physical earthly place or a spiritual state of being? Is the modern state of Israel the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy? Are the Jews "God's chosen people" and does God have a special plan for the Jews in Israel today? Do the Jews have an exclusive right to the land called Israel?
When it seems there is much more to be done than there is time to do it, it's easy to get under pressure. We think we're not getting enough done or are not getting it done quickly enough, so we push ourselves harder. But the fact of the matter is that when we do that, we usually wind up being less effective and getting even less done.
War exposes the lies we tell ourselves about ourselves. It rips open the hypocrisy of our religions and secular institutions. Those who return from war have learned something which is often incomprehensible to those who have stayed home. We are not a virtuous nation.
