John Taylor Gatto - Challenging the Myths of Modern Schooling Mr Gatto was a public school teacher for 30 years. He won teacher of the year awards for both the state of New York and for the entire United States. He has written a very informative book called "The Underground History of American Education". Note: On this web site you can read this book up to Chapter 8 (a new chapter is added regularly). He also wrote a book titled: "Dumbing Us Down" a few months after he quit teaching. It became an underground classic. It is a very informative site.
