LABARRE — Hundreds of dead and dying birds littered a quarter-mile stretch of highway in Pointe Coupee Parish on Monday as motorists drove over and around them.

-The one certainty is that God is still in control no matter what happens. I continually remind myself that the Lord said not even a sparrow falls to the ground without His knowledge. That really is comforting, even if you happen to be that sparrow.
However, knowing that God is in control does not remove our responsibility to do everything possible to change what is happening or to prepare ourselves for some difficult times.

Do violent movies, games make teens aggressive?

Watching violence portrayed in movies and other media may make teens more accepting of violence, researchers report in the journal Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience.

Previous research has shown a connection between violent media and aggression, as well as violence and desensitization. But this study looks at how teenagers' brains specifically respond to violent media, said Jordan Grafman, senior investigator at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

September 22, 2010 "Lew Rockwell" -- Well, it sure is murder for our boys in desert cammy. Five of our finest are now charged with running an unauthorized hit team, targeting random Afghan civilians for a little stress-relieving target practice. What’s the problem here? The CIA has been doing this for years with its own militarized groups. The DoD is doing this with its own special forces. Xe and other contractors do this with the holy blessing of both DoD and CIA. The President and the Congress have authorized this kind of thing, separately and together. Obama even asserted that he is comfortable and righteous in his role as decider-in-chief on which American citizens may live or die.

1. Countries used to go to war just for pride and sheer domination, but in modern times they go to war for commercial reasons. War is big business and it has become a major source of income for all of those involved in it. In essence war without end is economically profitable!

2. Nothing is as horrible as war, and nothing is as beautiful as peace.
